Improve the UX on event list filters

The filter system on the events list is really annoying to use. Every time I go to view my events list, I get an automatic filter for pending events, even though I don't necessarily want to see that. And I have to click several times to cancel these filters. Why not set up tabs for the filters and make the different filters accessible outside of a menu?
